Since being founded in 1992, the Cognitive Clinical Trials group has grown to become one of Canada's largest sites for conducting clinical research and drug trials related to dementia and Alzheimer's disease. Led by Dr. Michael Borrie (right), the group consists of Geriatricians, Cognitive Neurologists, a Cognitive Neuropsychologist and clinical research coordinators. Some of the group's research capabilities include MRI (1.5T, 3.0T, 7.0T, FMRI, MR Spectroscopy), PET, CT, Lumbar Puncture, Cyclotron, and IV/SQ therapies.
Our team of research staff is compromised of coordinators, psychometrists, geriatricians, cognitive neurologists, nurses, neuropsychologists, graduate students, and other clinical researchers who share similar yet varied interests in the research theme of Cognitive Vitality and Brain Health.
Our team is partners with the Robarts Research Institute and St Joseph’s Health Care imaging centre, Ontario Neurodegeneration Research Initiative (ONDRI) and the Canadian Collaboration for Neurodegeneration and Aging (CCNA), the Consortium of Canadian Centres for Clinical Cognitive Research (C5R), the Alzheimer’s Disease Neuroimaging Initiative (ADNI) and the Genetic FTD Initiative.
Cognitive Clinical Trials Group Geriatric Medicine & Cognitive Neurology partners with the Family Primary Care Collaborative Memory Clinics in Southwestern Ontario.
